We just located a very cheap (even at low quantity) Ethernet switch. This will make our Bill of Material (BOM) look very attractive. Look for more update on this in the coming days. New Project - 4-port GbE AMC 05/10/2009
4-port GbE AMC is a simple board with 4 ports in the front panel to bring Ethernet traffic in/out of a MicroTCA system. For an enterprise application, this is a must have and yet, there is not a cost effective way to do so. The cheapest GbE (unmanaged) AMC that I have seen selling for $1000 street price. How can MicroTCA - as a technology - compete when a 30-port unmanaged switch is selling for less than $500??? | Author - Thanh Nguyen
