We have been cranking on the design... We are a few weeks away from sharing our schematic with the world. Our BOM cost is coming in nicely and we should be able to offer that to our users for a very reasonable price.

We just located a very cheap (even at low quantity) Ethernet switch. This will make our Bill of Material (BOM) look very attractive. Look for more update on this in the coming days.

4-port GbE AMC is a simple board with 4 ports in the front panel to bring Ethernet traffic in/out of a MicroTCA system. For an enterprise application, this is a must have and yet, there is not a cost effective way to do so. The cheapest GbE (unmanaged) AMC that I have seen selling for $1000 street price. How can MicroTCA - as a technology - compete when a 30-port unmanaged switch is selling for less than $500???

We think that our design will be the lowest cost AMC out there. We are still working on our Bill of Material (BOM) so check back in a few weeks to get the latest BOM cost.
